  • So this is it. The end. Everything the game and its creators has built up to and foreshadowed has been for nothing, and most of the final packs were for atrocious reboots. The fandom has been left in the dust. All because LEGO couldn't make a profit. I don't think LEGO realizes how the game and similar practices could affect the brand in a positive way. Who would have ever thought we could get minifigures based on franchises like Gremlins and The A-Team without this game? And if they decided to change their marketing instead of pre-matureley abandoned ship, they could've, in theory, thrived like Amiibo. So you may be asking: "What is amiibo doing that LEGO Dimensions and other toys-to-life franchises were't?" Well, if you ask me, I say it's all in marketing not only the game, but the figures themselves as well.

If you look at games like Skylanders, LEGO Dimensions, and Disney Infinity, everything about them seems to be marketing to children and teens with the game, wheras Amiibo's advertising focuses less on the compatible games than it does on the figures themselves. They could have also supported this by adding physical instructions for the vehicles and gadgets. The Starter Pack was also pretty expensive, which may have turned people away from the game. But if they didn't advertise the game as much, it could have been better.

But alas, our only hope now is that they try something similar in the future. Maybe figures that work with every LEGO game, or maybe just figures, kind of like the exclusive minifigures they give out at 'cons, but sold at stores. Maybe they'll even add Lord Vortech to one of those lineups if they get enough demand. As for LEGO Dimensions itself, it seems it will never see the light of day ever again.

    • Good points, it could have been saved.

    • I hope that they'll bring it back someday....

    • I think a sequel can be made for the game or a remake edition but not in the Toys To Life format.

    • It's been a while, huh? Well, I'm still foolishly believing that they'll bring it back. And I'll keep believing. Honestly, I've worked on my whole My Little Pony: the Movie thing in the hopes that they'll add it in. They've announced that its over, but I'll keep believing that they'll bring it back.

Heh. Am I the only one who feels this way?

I also believe it will come back in some form.

    • I hate to be the bearer of bad news and dream crushing, but the Toys-to-Life business seems to be dying out now. Skylanders games are gone. Disney Infinity is gone. Now LEGO Dimensions is gone. Amiibo will soon be next. Sure, new stuff like Lightseekers are coming, but that's a different company tackling the Toys-to-Life tiger. Once a company that has dabbled with Toys-to-Life announces they are done with it, they most likely are done for good. No matter how much fan requests they get, our favorite canceled Toys-to-Life games will most likely never come back.

But, there is always a slight chance.

    • That's why I keep hoping. That one slight chance is what I'm rooting for.
