The Terminator is one of the Blind Bag characters in LEGO Dimensions 2: The Rise of Enoch, from the Terminator franchise.
The Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 Series 800 Terminator was sent by Skynet in 2029 to Los Angeles in 1984 to kill Sarah Connor, the future mother of John Connor, the leader of the future human Resistance. It was the first of the Infiltrators sent back on assassination missions by Skynet, and is arguably the single most significant Terminator unit as it inadvertently "fathered" Skynet in its journey through time, similar to how Kyle Reese fathered John Connor in his.
After emerging from the time displacement sphere, at 1:52 AM on May 12, 1984 at the Griffith Observatory, the naked Terminator encountered three punks roaming the streets and began to imitate what the punks were saying, before forcibly demanding their clothing and killing two of them when they responded with aggression. At some unspecified time later, in the earlier hours of the morning, it went to a gun shop to acquire weapons for its mission, killing the shop's proprietor so it could pocket the ammunition. The Terminator then checked a phone book for a list of Sarah Connors, finding a total of three. It proceeded to kill Sarah Ann Connor and Sarah Louise Connor, before tracking down its intended target - Sarah Jeanette Connor — in a bar named Tech Noir. The Terminator nearly succeeded in killing her, but Kyle Reese - a soldier sent by the future John Connor to protect Sarah against the Terminator in the past helped Sarah to escape by delaying the Terminator.
A chase ensued and the Terminator was injured in a car crash, damaging its arm and left eye. After removing the useless flesh eye (exposing the cybernetic optic underneath), the Terminator wore sunglasses so as to conceal its cybernetic eye and continue passing off as human. Armed with an assault rifle and shotgun, it then went to an LAPD police station to terminate Sarah, and while it went on a shooting spree which killed dozens of police officers, it failed to eliminate Connor before she escaped with Kyle.
The Terminator later went after and murdered Sarah's mother, and by impersonating her over the phone, was able to trick Sarah into revealing her and Kyle's whereabouts at the Tiki Motel; but the two escaped again. The Terminator proceeded to pursue them on a high speed motorcycle through a tunnel, then tried to run Sarah down with a commandeered tanker truck, while Kyle inserted a pipe bomb to destroy it. However, while the truck was destroyed, the Terminator survived; its living tissue was burned away by the fire, but its endoskeleton had survived and continued functioning, with only a disabled left leg joint.
The Terminator chased Kyle and Sarah into a factory, where Kyle attempted to blow it up and was mortally wounded in the process; though the explosion succeeded in crippling the Terminator further by blowing its legs, pelvis and left hand off, its endoskeleton from the waist up still survived and continued crawling through the factory after Sarah. Sarah managed to trap the Terminator and activate a hydraulic press on it just as it was about to choke her to death; the press crushing and flattening the machine beyond repair. It was finally destroyed, leaving little more than the arm it had attempted to choke Sarah with.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
To protect his younger self in the past, John Connor reprogrammed this Terminator and sent it back in time via the time displacement sphere. Upon arrival, it encountered a group of bikers, stealing one's clothing and the bar owner's sunglasses and shotgun.
The T-800 then tracked down John Connor in a shopping mall. When it met the T-1000 sent by Skynet to kill Connor, a lengthy chase ensued, but the two managed to escape the T-1000. Connor questioned the Terminator about itself and who sent it. The Terminator answered that it is a cybernetic organism, having living tissue over its metal endoskeleton. It told John that it was his future self who sent it to protect him.
John and the Terminator go to the Pescadero State Hospital to help free John's mother, Sarah, who was also trying to escape from there as well. The Terminator later told John and his mother that it has the ability to learn. In the Extended-Release version of the film, however, the three go to a garage and Sarah tried to kill the Terminator by smashing its CPU, but she was stopped by John, who felt that it was needed. Later on, John started teaching some things to it in an effort to help it "blend in" with humans better (some of the things he taught the Terminator included the cult phrase "Hasta la vista, baby!"). When Sarah asked it how Skynet was created, it answered that Miles Dyson was the most directly responsible person. It also explained that Skynet became self-aware after its creation, and began to deny human authority.
The group later encountered Dyson, but did not kill him. The Terminator explained him the consequences of his research. The three, along with Dyson, attempted to destroy the Cyberdyne building to prevent Skynet from being created. They were soon approached by the police. John, Sarah, and the Terminator escaped the building while Dyson blew up the building with himself inside.
The three were encountered again by the T-1000. The Terminator succeeded in destroying it when it fell into molten steel. Afterward, John drops the CPU and the arm of the first Terminator into the hot liquid. Since the Terminator had a computer chip in it, it also planned to destroy itself to prevent its technology from being discovered by others to create Skynet. John begged it not to be destroyed, but it had to fulfill its mission. When John cried, the Terminator understood why, but could not cry itself because it was a machine. It hugged John for the first and very last time, and having finally earned Sarah's respect, shook her hand offered to a brother warrior. As it is lowered into the steel below, the Warrior of Steel-in-Flesh gave John an encouraging thumbs up before sacrificing its life for humanity's future. The machine also renewed Sarah's hope in humanity as she mused that if a machine could learn to value human life, then so could humans.
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
After it was sent through the Continuum Transporter and emerged from its time bubble in Joshua Tree, California, it went to a club to acquire its clothing and then proceeded to steal a truck and got sunglasses.
It approached Connor in a veterinarian clinic where Brewster worked and took the two with him in the back of Brewster's Toyota Tundra to escape the T-X, a new, highly advanced Terminator. While driving, John asked him about its memories, assuming that this would have the same memories as "Uncle Bob". It stated that the Terminator sent from last time was a different T-101 (Model 101) unit. He then notified John that a T-X was sent back through time to eliminate his lieutenants as well as that his efforts in destruction of the Cyberdyne Building did not stop Judgment Day, but merely postponed it. The T-850 also told John that the T-X was designed to be capable of defeating other Terminators.
At a cemetery, the three went to Sarah Connor's grave. The Terminator dropped her coffin to find weapons inside. When the police arrived, they escaped, only to confront the T-X again. Later at a campsite, the Terminator revealed that if the T-X failed to kill John, it would kill John's future officers as secondary targets, including Robert Brewster, Kate's father. While driving, the Terminator revealed that he follows Kate's commands rather than John's, unlike the "Uncle Bob" as it was Katherine who sent the machine from the future, not John, because the Terminator killed John in 2032 before being captured and reprogrammed by the Resistance as he was chosen by Skynet for infiltration due to John's emotional attachment because of his boyhood experiences.
In the Cyber Research Systems facility, the Terminator battled with T-1 T-1 Battlefield Robots before fighting the T-X again. However, the Terminator could not overpower the advanced Terminatrix, the fight ending in the T-850's semi-decapitation. The T-X decided to put the Terminator to utilize by using Nanotechnological Transjector to partially reprogram him and sent him off to kill John. Controlled by the T-X, the T-850 began to attack John and Kate, but shut itself down to prevent itself from killing John when he confronted it with the conflict between its current actions and its primary programmed mission to ensure John and Kate's survival.
After it rebooted and regained control of itself, the Terminator battled the T-X for the last time at Crystal Peak after taking a helicopter to follow John and Kate. Although the Terminator crashed the helicopter on the T-X, it only damaged T-X's legs and outer sheath, but the damage delayed it long enough for John and Kate to retreat into the Crystal Peak underground bunker to wait out the now-inevitable nuclear war. When the T-X attempted to follow them by crawling, the T-850 managed to detonate its last hydrogen fuel cell to destroy itself and the T-X by ramming the power cell into its opponent's mouth, resulting in a massive detonation, its last words being to inform the T-X "You are terminated".
As the Resistance prepares for a massive invasion of Skynet forces to culminate in the destruction of Skynet Central, Skynet deploys a series of machines to capture two humans above all others: Kyle Reese and John Connor. After successfully capturing Reese and his companion Star, Connor finds out about this and goes on a solo mission to rescue Reese with the aid of Marcus Wright.
While searching through the prison cells of the Skynet R&D Facility, Connor finds one cell still occupied. He peers into the cell, but gets knocked back when the machine inside bursts out, revealing itself to be a prototype T-800 Infiltrator, with Model 101 living tissue. John immediately fires a burst of gunfire into its chest, but this does almost nothing to slow its advance as it grabs him by the scruff of the neck and hurls him across the room. John slams the butt of his rifle into the T-800's face, again with little effect, and the machine retaliates by once again throwing him across the room.
John manages to retreat to laboratory where a disoriented T-600 was firing its mini-gun aimlessly due to sabotage. The T-800 follows him and encounters the flailing T-600 whereupon it swiftly bisects the machine. John blasts it twice with his grenade launcher, burning off its flesh sheath and revealing the metallic endoskeleton beneath. John then blows a hole in the wall and escapes with Kyle and Star into the Terminator Factory below the laboratories.
The T-800 stalks them for some time, eventually finding them waiting for an elevator which they believe contains their pursuer. The T-800 is hiding behind an assembly line of Series 700 Terminators, however, and sneaks up on them and knocks John and Kyle to the floor. Kyle quickly blasts the machine with the grenade launcher, temporarily disabling it while he and Star escape into the elevator. Connor remains behind, however, and the T-800 attacks him once again, disarming him of his launcher and smashing him to the floor.
John tries to escape and confronts the machine upon a catwalk with a shotgun, but is unable to halt its advance and is subsequently thrown down to the lower level where it grabs him by the throat and almost kills him. John is saved by the timely arrival of Marcus, who charges the T-800 and pins it down, allowing John to crawl away. The T-800 ignores Marcus at first and tries to reacquire John, but Marcus's staunch persistence hinders its progress as he struggles to hold it back.
The T-800 fights him off and slams Marcus against some machinery before hurling him into a metal drum, resulting in the skin on his hand being melted off. Enraged, Marcus charged the T-800 as it approached Connor's position. He shoved the machine into a pilon and proceeded to beat it with a piece of railing. The T-800 grabs his wrist, however, and pushes him away. It then picked up a cinder block and slammed Marcus repeatedly until the block shattered, after which it scanned Marcus' body, discovering his beating heart and identifying it as a point of vulnerability.
The T-800 delivered a crushing blow to Marcus' chest, the sheer force of which effectively stopped his heart and terminated him. It then tracked John to his last known location, but found him missing upon arrival. The T-800 remodulated its voice to mimic that of Kyle, and cried out for John to help it. Connor cautiously followed the voice, only to find the T-800 waiting for him. He fired several times with his pistol, but the machine was not daunted in the slightest.
John spotted his grenade launcher on the lower level beside Marcus' body and so he jumped down, landing hard with the T-800 right behind him. John managed to grab the launcher and fired at the vat of metal above the machine, causing it to spill over it. The T-800 was momentarily consumed by the metal, but rose out of the mass and continued its advance, so Connor fired his last remaining pistol bullet at a coolant pump nearby, freezing the metal on the machine's body and effectively trapping it like a statue.
Before it froze completely, however, the T-800 dug its fingers into John's face, creating the legendary scar on his left side. Connor then retreated to Marcus' side and tried to revive him, all the while the T-800 was slowly breaking free from the metal coating. After John succeeded in reviving Marcus with a power cable, the T-800 broke completely free and impaled Connor through the chest with the same piece of railing Marcus had used earlier.
Ironically, this would prove to be its undoing, as Marcus leapt to his feet and used the railing to decapitate the machine with ease, disabling it. The Terminator's chip was destroyed shortly thereafter when John blew up the entire facility by setting a bomb on the nuclear power cells.
After a T-1000 was sent back in time by Skynet to assassinate a young Sarah Connor, a T-800 was sent to 1973 to protect her anonymously, as its memory files were erased so that no one would know who sent it. The T-800 saved Sarah, but her parents were killed by the T-1000.
Thus, the T-800 acted as Sarah's guardian and raised Sarah by itself, preparing her by teaching her how to defend herself against Skynet's assassins, along with forewarning her about key moments in her future. T-800 was then referred as "Pops" by Sarah. Pops also told Sarah about the role her son, John, would play in Skynet's downfall. Over the many years they spent together, Sarah formed a very strong bond with Pops, whom she sees as a father-figure and refers to as "Pops" and taught the T-800 restraint, leading the Terminator to attack only to disable and works on teaching it to blend in, though without too much success.
When the T-800 sent by Skynet to assassinate Sarah arrived at Griffith Park Observatory in 1984, Pops confronted it in a fight. It held the other T-800 off long enough for Sarah to deactivate it with a .50 caliber round to its chest. The two then traveled to downtown Los Angeles to save Kyle Reese, who was under attack from the previously-mentioned T-1000. They were able to rescue him, but Kyle was shocked by Pops's presence in the vehicle. During a short fight, Pops incapacitated Kyle by knocking him unconscious using the barrel of Kyle's gun. When Kyle woke up, Pops and Sarah explained him the changes to the future and that they'd been preparing for his arrival for over a decade. As they talked, Pops detected and shot off a Mimetic polyalloy tracking device from the door of their truck, which the T-1000 had been using to track them down.
The T-1000 successfully tracked them down and, after a brief car chase, found them in an abandoned warehouse. Upon arrival, it impaled Pops with a pole formed from its own mimetic polyalloy through the shoulder, pinning it to a wall and temporarily incapacitating it while the T-1000 went after Sarah, reactivating the damaged T-800 with a drop of its mimetic polyalloy in order for it to kill Kyle. Kyle managed to deactivate the T-800 once again and Sarah lured the T-1000 into an acid trap to dissolve it. Despite being badly damaged, the T-1000 managed to make it through the acid and strangled her, but Pops, having freed itself from the pole by then, grabbed the T-1000 and held it under the acid to completely dissolve it. However, doing this also dissolved the skin on Pops' right arm before Sarah neutralized the acid so it would not damage his endoskeleton. Pops and Sarah then removed the decapitated T-800's CPU and dissolved its body in acid so it could not be found and used to create Skynet by reverse engineering as initially happened.
Pops and Sarah revealed Kyle their plan: they intended to use the Time Displacement Device that they had developed to travel to 1997 to prevent Judgment Day by destroying Skynet before it was ever created. They needed the T-800's CPU to act as the time machine's operating system. Due to its damaged skin, which would take years to regrow, Pops could not make the trip as was originally planned, as the magnetic field would destroy it. It would instead take "the long way" and prepare for their arrival in the future. While preparing the Time Machine, Kyle remembered "Genisys" from his time jump and told Sarah and Pops about it. Pops confirmed that it was possible for Kyle to remember the memories of an altered timeline by experiencing a nexus point while he was inside the other TDD's quantum field, convincing Sarah to jump forward to that time instead. Pops sent them forward in time to 2017 and remained behind.
Pops continued to gather equipment, supplies, and weapons for Kyle and Sarah's use in raiding Skynet in 2017. Over the years, its skin sheath regrew so it appeared completely human again even if it was elderly. During the preparation period, Pops took a position as a member of the construction crew for the Cyberdyne Systems Headquarters to gather intelligence and added Kyle and Sarah's data into an underground bunker, so that they could survive the destruction of the building if they could not escape. However, Pops was eventually laid off. Pops had also kept a collection of photographs and crayon drawings Sarah had made of the two of them when she was a child, along with her old cassette player. Due to old age and a lack of proper maintenance, its servomotors had started to degrade and occasionally experienced lock-ups.
When Sarah and Kyle arrived in 2017, Pops was not able to intercept them as they materialized above him on top of an overpass in the middle of traffic. It later blamed getting stuck in traffic for not being able to intercept them. It watched as they were arrested and was unable to help them. It tracked them to a hospital and infiltrated the building to rescue them, posing as a visitor. After breaking into the security room, Pops discovered that Sarah and Kyle were being led to the garage by John Connor. Realizing that John had been converted into a T-3000 Infiltrator, sent to ensure Skynet's creation, it fought John. They were both trapped by the magnetic field of an MRI machine. Kyle shut the machine down long enough to allow Pops to escape but then switched it back on, leaving John trapped temporarily. They escaped to Pops' base on the outskirts of San Francisco.
While preparing for their attack on Cyberdyne, Pops explained John's current state to the pair. It cast doubt on Sarah's belief that John could be saved due to the irreversible nature of his conversion but offered a method of defeating him: a magnetic device that could restrain him. Pops and Kyle had a slight competition over who could load bullets into clips faster, but Pops' servomotors locked up and it dropped some bullets due to the glitch caused by the damage from 1984, telling Kyle "I am old". Kyle decided to keep the incident from Sarah. Pops left the base to build a device, similar to a cetus, that would interfere with the T-3000's magnetic field holding together its Machine-Phase Matter, thus momentarily disabling or restraining it. While preparing that weapon, the T-3000 had tracked them down, forcing Pops, Kyle and Sarah to flee, using a school bus. During a confrontation on the Golden Gate Bridge, John succeeded in separating the group. Pops was able to catch up to them and rescued Sarah and Kyle before they fell off the bridge. The trio were then arrested by the police and taken into custody.
During a one-sided interrogation, Pops detected the presence of another Terminator nearby and attacked a member of the police entourage, revealed to be the T-3000 in disguise. Pops took the upper hand that time and was able to hold John off long enough for Kyle to fly them off of the roof in a helicopter. John followed in another helicopter and almost succeeded in shooting them down, but after having lost sight of them for a moment, Pops leaped from their helicopter and smashed into John's, causing them to crash into the lobby of the Cyberdyne building.
While Kyle and Sarah feared for Pops' safety, it reappeared in time to save them from John by pinning him to a wall with a landing strut. Pops informed Sarah and Kyle that he had hidden a fallout shelter in the construction blueprints to protect them from the explosion. It had been programmed to identify her and grant her access. The three set out to destroy Skynet by planting explosives, but as they were doing that, Skynet evolved at an astonishing rate, decreasing the upload timer each time. John found them again and began attacking, taking Sarah hostage as a means to prevent Pops from activating the detonator. Unable to defy its programming to protect Sarah, Pops gave the detonator to Kyle and attacked John. A brutal fight ensued, in which the detonator was destroyed, but Pops managed to hold its own for a time, slashing John repeatedly with a laser post and seemingly making him incapable of taking on disguises anymore. However, John eventually gained the upper hand, ripping off Pops' left arm and throwing him in front of a prototype time machine, helpless. John taunted Pops about its inability to defeat him, but Sarah and Kyle saved it.
Taking advantage of Kyle and Sarah distracting John, Pops retrieved its magnetic glove and punched through John's chest, restraining him. Pops then ordered Kyle to activate the machine which would destroy anything non-organic, including John and Pops due to its damaged state. Kyle reluctantly complied over Sarah's objections as Pops dragged John into the magnetic field. Pops asked Kyle to take care of "his" Sarah as he activated the time machine. Pops kept John restrained as the magnetic field started to tear them apart, but John eventually broke free of its hold and tried to escape the it. Pops fought John to prevent that from happening, though Pops was eventually thrown out off the field and landed in a vat of unprogrammed mimetic polyalloy. John was unable to escape the field and was destroyed, causing the time displacement machine to explode and set off the charges, destroying the Cyberdyne Complex along with any residual machine-phase matter from the T-3000. Pops survived as it was reactivated by the mimetic polyalloy and used it to repair itself, gaining T-1000 like abilities. With its new abilities, Pops was able to free Kyle and Sarah from the bunker, initially confusing them as they thought it was another T-1000 when it used its new limbs to open the door.
With Skynet seemingly destroyed, they traveled to Kyle's childhood home where Kyle instructed his younger self to remember a message that would help them defeat Skynet. Watching Kyle interact with his younger self, Pops gave Sarah his approval in the form of admitting that Kyle is a good man. Believing they were free and have changed the future, Sarah and Kyle decided to make their own future together and kissed. When looked at for approval, Pops gave them his version of a smile and they drove off together.
Terminator: Dark Fate
The T-800 that would be known as Carl was one of several Terminators sent back through time by Skynet to terminate John Connor. It tracked down Sarah and John to a beach in Livingston, Guatemala in 1998, three years after the destruction of Cyberdyne Building in 1995. Despite his orders having came from a future that no longer existed (as he was sent prior to Skynet's destruction), the T-800 carried out his mission and terminated John Connor successfully.
A few months after its mission, the T-800 rescued Alicia and her son Mateo from an abusive man. He took them under his wing as his own "family". Over the next two decades, with his primary mission completed and no further orders to carry out, the T-800 learned to successfully integrate into society, taking on the name '"Carl". Carl's contact with humans, in particular his relationship to his adoptive family, enabled Carl to "grow" the equivalent of a human conscience. During the time with Alicia, Carl had told her who he really was, while Alicia still accepted him as her partner.Believing that it would give Sarah purpose after the loss of John, Carl began texting Sarah the co-ordinates of other Terminator units that had arrived from the future. In order to stop Sarah from discovering his identity, Carl encrypted the messages.
Over time, Carl started a drapery business, Carl's Draperies, and he made a home in Laredo, Texas with his family. Despite this image, Carl began to collect weapons as he calculated a high probability that human society would collapse into chaos and should that happen, those weapons would be needed to protect his family.
In 2020, after tracking the source of the texts sent to Sarah in the hopes of getting help stopping the Rev-9, Grace, Dani Ramos and Sarah arrived on his doorstep. Unsettled by once again coming face-to-face with the Terminator that killed her son, Sarah attempted to shoot Carl, but she was stopped by Grace. Sarah stormed off and Dani followed, leaving Carl to ask Grace what she was and how they found him.
After Sarah had calmed down, she and Dani returned to Carl and Grace. Carl explained what had happened after he completed his mission to kill John and he thought by informing Sarah of the locations of Terminators that were about to arrive from the future, he could give meaning to John's death. Angered by this, Sarah declared that she knew what would give meaning to it before drawing a pistol and shooting three times in Carl's chest, with no effect. Carl stated that Sarah chose to change the future and that he would help Sarah protect Dani because he chose to do so.
After Carl's family arrived home, Carl discussed how to defeat the Rev-9 with Sarah, Dani and Grace. Sarah suggested setting up a kill box and using Dani as bait to lure the Rev-9 in. Carl agreed with the plan as it was the best plan after his calculation. After Grace refused, Dani emotionally told everyone that she agreed to be used as a bait per Sarah's plan.
Carl armed Dani with weapons from his armory, and he, Grace and Sarah taught her to shoot at a firing range, which Carl had set up in his yard. Grace informed Carl that the weapons in his possession were not likely to stop the Rev-9 and Carl suggested using an EMP. Grace agreed, noting that an EMP would fry the Rev-9's neural net. Sarah stated that she knows someone with access to an EMP and Carl revealed that he knew this person as well since he had been tracking Sarah.
Making their way to a disused warehouse to meet with Sarah's contact, Carl shared his draping business and experience with Dani. Later, Major Dean, Sarah's contact, arrived and revealed to be a major sergeant who gave them a pair of EMP explosives. Carl got Dean's attention, who asks if he is Sarah's bodyguard — she remarked that he was only a member of her operation team who should stay silent.
However, the Rev-9 suddenly intercepted the group in a helicopter, shooting at them while Carl fired back. Before the Rev-9 could reach them, the group drove away in Carl's van. As the chase progressed, they boarded a C-5 cargo plane. Carl pushed a large bundle of luggage off the cargo bay door as it began to take off. Scanning for the Rev-9, he detected him still pursuing them on the helicopter, warning Sarah and Grace that they had been reacquired. As Grace took off the plane into the air, Sarah and Carl managed to destroy the helicopter. However, the Rev-9 still managed to board the plane. Firing a grenade and missing, Carl slammed the Rev-9 onto the ground, shooting at his face repeatedly before nearly being impaled. Sarah shot the Rev-9 multiple times, giving Carl enough leverage to tackle it and send the two to the edge of the cargo bay door. Sarah and Dani pushed Carl's truck off the plane, knocking the Rev-9 off the plane while Carl nearly fell off himself.
After the battle, Carl revealed to the group that the EMP grenades had been destroyed. Without the weapon, Carl now estimated their chances at destroying the Rev-9 to be minimal. Grace explained to Dani that she would become the future leader to the human Resistance and she would also adopt Grace in the future, much to Carl and Sarah's astonishment.
A while after the Rev-9 intervened, having infiltrated an aerial refueling aircraft and colliding both both plane together, as they descend to an inevitable crash. Hanging onto luggage after the impact, Carl fell onto the closed cargo bay door of the plane. Leaping from it, he urged Sarah to open it, lunging toward Dani and Grace to keep them stationary against a wall, saving them from further harm.
The Rev-9 boarded the plane successfully, though not long after Carl pounced onto him, pinning him against the cargo bay. Punching his opponent several times, Carl lost the skin on his left arm due to Rev-9's counterattacking. Thrown aside, Carl jumped onto Sarah to save her from falling out of the plane, before being impaled by the Rev-9's arm blade. Grace tackled the Rev-9, taking Carl with him as they fell onto the side of the plane. Carl subdued the Rev-9 by impaling his arm with a metal pole before firing his grenade launcher to blast the cargo bay door open. Once the Rev-9's liquid half became free, Carl fired another grenade at it, causing it to fall apart and allowing the heroines to escape, while he and Rev-9 remained aboard until the plane crashed.
Plummeting into a hydro-power plant's dam, Carl fought against Rev-9 Endoskeleton underwater. However, Carl lost his left hand to the Rev-9's liquid skin before he was crushed by falling debris. Recovering after a period of time, Carl rose up from the waters to see the group near the door of the hydro plant, remarking to a weakened Grace that she looked terrible and handing medication to her. Once it was decided that the plant would be the kill box used against the Rev-9, Carl took a metal bar as weapon. Bluntly denying Rev-9's demand to hand Dani to it, he listened to his adversary explain that the two of them were built for an identical purpose — to bring Judgement Day upon Earth. Carl simply stated that he came from a similar future, which had failed to come to be.
Carl landed the first strike against Rev-9, slamming the metal bar against its face, immediately then punching him into a wall post. Missing his next strike, Carl was quickly overpowered by Rev-9's barrage of attacks, impaled and thrown near a pit where he lost his weapon. Recovering after a few moments as the heroines continue to do battle, Carl punched the Rev-9 endoskeleton to the ground, throwing it multiple times with his remaining arm. Rev-9 recuperated from this, recombining just in time to slam Carl into a tractor. Sarah shot the enemy multiple times before Carl and Grace forced the Rev-9 to enter an industrial turbine. Despite the struggle, they eventually succeeded with Grace wrapping a chain over Rev-9's mouth, tearing his cheeks open before Carl threw it into the turbine, causing an enormous explosion that costs the aging T-800 his right ankle. The impact of the explosion caused him to shut down.
During this time of inactivity, Dani tearfully removed Grace's power source at Grace's request as she told Dani must use it as an EMP to destroy the Rev-9, which was now rendered a half-functional Endoskeleton at this point. Sarah eventually managed to reboot Carl as Dani tried to combat the Rev-9. After reboot, Carl punched the Rev-9 several times, giving Dani enough time to stab the the machine with the thorium reactor. Taking the opportunity, Carl dragged the Rev-9 into the same pit where his weapon had fallen into, giving the two survivors a solemn look before falling in, embracing certain destruction.
As Grace's thorium reactor began to overload the Rev-9, Carl continued to hold him in place in spite of the surges striking at his own body. Looking over at Sarah again, he recited "For John", the same closing words he had left in each message he sent to Sarah in the past. Afterwards, his living tissue burnt away from the intense amounts of energy surge from the thorium reactor, reducing him to an endoskeleton. Once the reactor finally detonated, both Terminators were melted into the floor, destroyed beyond repair. The Rev-9 was destroyed instantly, while Carl survived long enough to take one final look at Sarah and Dani before finally shutting down — making amends with Sarah Connor and putting a final end to the legacy of Skynet.
